Mandate
This project involved creating captivating packaging design for popsicles for Marché Public de Montréal, a marketplace renowned for offering fresh and innovative products. The goal was to reflect the vibrancy and creativity of the marketplace while conveying the freshness and quality of the popsicles. The design needed to stand out on shelves and appeal to families, tourists, and local food enthusiasts, ensuring the packaging kept the popsicles intact and frozen during transport and display.
Ideation and Design
Inspired by hip-hop culture, particularly its origins in the clubbing scene, I used bold typography and vibrant colors to create an eye-catching design. The packaging featured six unique flavors, each with its own playful name and color scheme, creating a rainbow effect on the shelf. The dynamic lights and energy of clubs were echoed in the patterns along the packaging edges. This project allowed me to explore new printing techniques and tactile elements, enhancing both the visual and sensory appeal of
the design.
Outcome and Growth
Additionally, this project was a transformative journey that provided me with the opportunity to delve into the nuanced art of tone-on-tone printing and the use of epoxy resin to craft decoys for the packaging. This exploration of tactile elements opened up new creative avenues, enabling me to create designs that not only look captivating but also feel engaging to the touch. It symbolized personal and cultural growth, marking a significant chapter in my journey of self-discovery and creative exploration.
