Plant The Countryside
Seed Packaging For Marché Public de Montréal
Mandate
The objective of this project was to design packaging for a new line of seeds for Marché Public de Montréal, a marketplace dedicated to supporting local farmers and artisans. The packaging needed to reflect the marketplace's values of freshness, innovation, and local support while being attractive and informative. It was crucial for the designs to stand out on shelves and convey the quality and uniqueness of the seeds to potential buyers.
Ideation and Design
Inspired by the picturesque Sainte Agathe region in Quebec, I aimed to create a vintage, country-like aesthetic, capturing the essence of small-town living. Using earthy tones and rustic textures to mimic raw materials, each package featured imagery of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, revealed through a functional spout designed for easy access. The slogan "Embrace the country life at home" encapsulated the concept, offering customers the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of farming and gardening, even in an urban environment.
Outcome and Growth
The final packaging design captured the essence of rural Quebec, resonating with customers seeking to bring a touch of the countryside into their homes. Emphasizing nature and raw materials, the design conveyed authenticity and natural beauty, while functional spouts enhanced user experience. This project expanded my skills in packaging design and creating functional dielines, receiving positive feedback from both the client and customers for aligning with the marketplace's values and customer preferences.
